KMT Hepatech earns CCAC accreditation
KMT Hepatech has recently applied for and received a Certificate of GAP-Good Animal Practice® from the Canadian Council on Animal Care (CCAC).
The CCAC is internationally recognized for their standards of animal ethics and care in research, teaching, and testing.
Even among the severe restrictions imposed during the COVID-19 pandemic, the CCAC conducted a thorough analysis of our animal care program and participated in a virtual site assessment in November 2020.
The CCAC examined and assessed all aspects of KMT’s animal care program. This assessment included a virtual site visit, documentation review, and examination of KMT’s Animal Care Committee membership and functionality.
The CCAC panel examined in detail KMT’s animal care standards, scientific and peer review processes, operational and technical SOPS, animal use protocols and reports, facility maintenance programs, husbandry programs, animal health programs, sentinel programs, veterinary programs, and biosecurity protocols.
KMT is dedicated to the continued development and implementation of effective animal care programs based on the principles of the CCAC’s guidelines, policies, and referenced materials.
